Ingredients

- 1 large can, 21 ounces Apple Pie Filling
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 to 3 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1 can Biscuit dough (7.5 ounce can)
- 10 individually wrapped caramels, each cut in half
- Oil for frying, preferably Vegetable Oil
Instructions
FIRST STEP:
- In a heavy skillet, add Vegetable oil, about 2.5 quarts
- Heat the oil over medium heat
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon and stir to blend together
- Set this to the side
- Open the can of biscuits and separate the biscuits
- With the palm of your hand flatten each biscuit slightly
SECOND STEP:
- In the center of each flattened biscuit spoon 1 tbsp of the pie filling
- Place two halves of a caramel on the top of the apple pie filling
- Using your fingers, pull up lightly and pinch the dough together to seal
THIRD STEP:
- Roll the dough into a ball as much as possible
- Using a slotted Spoon gently place up to two of the round biscuit balls into the hot oil and continuously roll the pie bomb to brown all sides
- When all sides are golden, carefully remove the pie bomb using the slotted spoon and place in the cinnamon sugar
- Roll the pie bomb to entirely coat the bomb and then set on a cooling rack to cool slightly
- Serve immediately or drizzle caramel topping and a dollop of whipped cream
